1. Binx Walton
Though she’s now a ubiquitous face on the runways and in campaigns, Binx Walton first appeared in T for a story shot by Mario Sorrenti in Feb. 2014. Since then, she’s been a regular in our pages, appearing most recently in Glen Luchford’s Sept. portofilo about the return of nostalgia to fashion.
2. Rianne van Rompaey
The Dutch model (who got her start with an assist from Ashley Brokaw) began her career by walking in Nicolas Ghesquière’s debut collection for Louis Vuitton — and continued to work with the brand for many years after. This year, van Rompaey appeared in a T editorial that examined fashion and its relationship to the applied arts.
3. Julia Bergshoeff
The Dutch model is a regular face in T, appearing in everything from a story about the ease of evening dresses to an exploration of knitwear on the beach. She most notably appeared in “The Face,” a portfolio featuring 11 women who define beauty now.
4. Aya Jones
The model Aya Jones was first discovered on Paris’s rue de Rivoli — and booked promptly as an exclusive in Prada’s spring/summer 2015 show. This year, T brought her somewhere very different: to rural America, for an exploration of American sportswear.
5. Ruth Bell
Ruth Bell — whose twin, May Bell, is also a model — first shaved her head for an Alexander McQueen campaign. Since then, she has become widely-known for her buzz cut, appearing in a campaign for Saint Laurent and on the runway for Gucci, Lanvin, Versace and more. This year, T took Bell on a trip to the seaside in the South of France.
6. Adrienne Jüliger
The German model booked 20 shows the very first time she walked in New York Fashion Week. Since then, she’s appeared in a campaign for Prada — and for T, she joined Aya Jones on a trip exploring the fashionable side of American sportswear.
7. Natalie Westling
The Scottsdale, Ariz. native Natalie Westling first appeared in Marc Jacobs’s ad campaign featuring Miley Cyrus. This year, she went back to the desert, gracing the cover of T’s fall design issue for a story about Nicolas Ghesquière and Modernism in Palm Springs.
8. Lineisy Montero
Montero burst on the scene at Prada’s fall/winter 2015 show — with a little help from the casting guru Ashley Brokaw — which soldified her as one to watch. By the following season, she had been booked to walk in dozens of shows.
9. Fei Fei Sun
The 26-year-old Chinese model Fei Fei Sun has, over the last five years, established herself as a well-known name in the industry. (Early in her career, she was chosen by Karl Lagerfeld to appear in his Chanel Shanghai show and, in 2012, became the first Asian face of Valentino.) This year, she appeared in T’s portfolio examining what feels beautiful now.
10. Liya Kebede
The Ethiopian model Liya Kebede has been a successful model for years — but T fell in love with her all over again in 2015. She appeared in our big beauty portfolio featuring 11 different versions of beauty today.
